Which resistor to get rid of the amp thump?

I am installing a double din in my 02 with the factory sub, I searched the forum here, but found a whole bunch of different ratings listed. So what has worked for you? Also do I just need to got to radioshack and ask for a 4700 ohm ( or whaterver) risistor? Will they know what I am talking about?

Used a 4700ohm resistor on the remote turn on wire, and it seems to be working fine. Have turned it on and off about 5 0r 6 times since I got it installed and it seems fine. No thumping.
