The whole set just like the guy did in the write-up, you need to replace the lowest one from the looks of it but since you will need to remove everyhting to access it I would replace all of them.

Side note, when you do the job, tape off the intake manifold so you don't get debris and crud in it like that guy did.

thanks. i guess i be doing them all. i found a place online for one seal for less than $5 shipped. everywhere else wanted $10+ for shipping!! found the other ring on autozone online for like $2.

just bought the 1L2Z-8255-AA seal...ok so the autozone part states its a water pump gasket with a ref number matching the part number from the how-to(W702837-S300)...safe to buy?

http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/Felpro-Water-Pump-Gasket/_/N-91spr?isSearchByPartNumber=true&itemIdentifier=318512_0_0_&oemPartNumber=W702837S300 says: "Cross Referenced Part #: W702837S300"

heres the other findings:
http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/Duralast-By-Felpro-Thermostat-Gasket/_/N-91sst?itemIdentifier=820655&_requestid=219964 says: "Thermostat housing to manifold."
http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/Victor-Reinz-Thermostat-Gasket/_/N-91sst?itemIdentifier=145246&_requestid=220047 says: " Housing gasket O-ring type"

Try rockauto.com and use the discount code found in the vendors section on this site.

More than likely your lower t-stat housing is separating and causing the leak.
The Motorcraft RG-614 "rubber band" shaped seal is very seldom the problem. GL

You'll definetly want these two parts for sure.

1L2Z-8255-AA RG614 lower thermostat housing seal
-W702837-S300 thermostat seal (aka large o-ring)

Yeah, looking at your picture again it looks like the lower gasket (paper, I believe) needs replaced but I would replace all three since you're gonna have it all apart anyway. You'll wanna buy the two rubber o-rings and the lower paper/ cardboard gasket.

didnt see a part number for the paper gasket in the how-to... ??:( just ordered the rubbers...

No paper gasket is used. The housing splits at the seams.
Check the sensors for leaks. Don't want to do this twice.

thanks all...and good call on the rockauto.com...very reasonable pricing!

:eek:splits??? is it supposed to? do i need a new housing?

I would give 10-1 odds it's the lower housing splitting. Search, it's a VERY common failure. Sorry.

To pinpoint, rent a fully refundable coolant pressure test kit from most auto parts stores. Call around.

Also, check Amazon for pricing. Free shipping is a nice incentive. Keep us posted on your progress. GL

My bad. I thought these housings were two piece seperate, I forgot they were pressed together. You might wanna order the housing parts too just incase and send them back if not needed. Better to have the parts and not need them then to need the parts and not have them.

Looks like the lower housing piece is shot, if it was from the sensor holes I don't think the coolant would be making it's way all the way around the the front like that.
