Hello. I have an 04 lifted Explorer. Its got a really bad vibration during acceleration. I'm pretty sure its a front cv axel. How do I tell which side is bad?
How did you lift it? Bad vibrations could be anything due to the lift adding stress to the system. Could be anything really. Bad u-joints, hubs are a big thing. Lift the car up and put your hands on the tire at 12 and 6 and see if you can push/pull the tire. If it wobbles, its your hubs. You could also touch the spring and spin the tire as well, if you feel vibrations in the spring, it could also relate to the hub. As far as u-joints, remove the drive shaft and check them out. Also, check your upper ball joints and see if you have any uneven ware on the tires, maybe its simple and just out of alignment.
