I have read a lot of good things on this board about the use of synthetic oils in the engine, transfer case and diff. Now it is time to teach young son how to change oil in his new (to him) 92 EB automatic.

So what oil should we use?

How about the diff and transer?

The Explorer has about 85K on it and none of the drive line has been opned up.

Thanks for your help.

well, im in the process of switching my fluids to synthetics also. im actually on my way out to the auto parts store to get synthetic motor oil. im gonna get mobil 1 (5w-30.) at the end of the summer ill be switching my tranny fluid to synthetic too, and i think theres a mobil 1 product for that too.

my $0.02

I am a big fan of synthetic lubricants. I picked up several mpg in fuel mileage when I switched to Mobil 1 in the crank, autoo trans and rear end.

I have had no problems, narray a leak either.

Good luck.

AMSOIL. They will outperform all synthetics on the market.
