I can get a used Bronco, Bronco II, or Ranger Manual Shift T-case for like $150 with all the linkages. Which one is the best for off-roading/should i get?
The one from the Bronco will not work. Depending on the year, it could be a BW1356, etc. but not anything that has been swapped into an Explorer before. Also, depending on the year Bronco II or Ranger, you will want the t-case from one of them. Starting in the mid 90s I believe, BW1354 t-cases were available in Bronco II's, but most of them are BW1350. Like 1996explorer4x4 said above, the 1354 is what most people swap into Explorers, b/c you don't have to change any driveshafts. It is completely bolt-in. The 1350 and 1354 also have some internal differences.
