OK, I got my trailer form the dealer last weekend, but the place could not get me in to hook up the electric brake controler or the plug for the back. So, they gave me the controler (Tekonsha Voyager) and the rear plug (Hoppy multi-tow 6 & 4 combo) for free.
My question is what wires on the controler go where? The rear plug is easy, because it is used in conjunction with my existing four prong (I.E. it plugs into it and the basic lights are taken care of, only have to wire the electric brake wires). The directions are kind of hard to read (little blurry) and not very specific.
The controler has four wires (blk, red, blu, and wht) coming out of it. I know white is the ground(sticker on it says so) and I think the blk is the power. The reason I think this, is because the rear plug has three extra wires (wht, red and blu) coming out of it. So, I should run two wires from the controler to the plug, right? Blu to blu and red to red. The white one should be a ground to the frame. If I am figuring this all correct, the only other question I have is shouldn't there be a fuse on the power(blk) inline somewhere? If so what amp would I use.
I can post pics of the controler and plug later when I get home, if need be. Any help would be great.
