some time after i got my x, i started hearing a humming noise comming from under the hood, it wasnt there when i got it. it comes through my speakers from one amp but not the other. it is worse when i have my 200 amp alternator in versus having the stock in. the thing is, it doesnt only come through the speakers, i can have the stereo off and stand out next to the truck and hear it from under the hood. any ideas?

Is it your stereo or your Idle Air controller? I suspect its your IAC if you can hear it under the hood.. pop the hood and check if it sounds like the IAC..

It's your IAC. I thought I was getting interference through one of my amps and rewired the whole truck twice. Replaced the IAC and it went away.

if replacement isn't an option - you can always just use like 1/2 a can of Carb Cleaner on it. Spray it in, let it soak, move the spring back and forth a few times, wipe it out. Repeat x50. =)

alright ill try that tomarrow

I had the same problem with mine. There is a little black filter on the side of the IAC. My Sport was making the whinning noise because that filter was blocked up which caused excessive air pressure to build up and create that whinning noise. I suggest replacing that filter or if necessary replacing the entire IAC. Hope it helps!
