Hey everyone, I remember a while back, about a year ago, someone posted a very detailed instructions with pics on how to install 95-99 Indiglo or White Face Guages. Any one know if they can post those instructions for me because i'm really into wanting to do that to my vehicle later on. :)

Hey what's up, well I can't buy the wheels due to my mother's surgery. I posted a thread about in the "general explorations" email me at daruiz18@yahoo.com so that we can talk.

thats cool i totally understand about your situation. When are you getting the gauges?

Probably next week, I will call you when I have them so taht you can help me install them, cool wit you?

yeah just let me know

Where did you get your gauges from bigtigexplorer? Im looking for the reverse indigo gauges but that will give me a starting point. Thanks

I know that is the right URL, They might have gone under or switched to a different name.

I just did my own white gauge mod on my X. Scored a speedo cluster off a '02 Sport and just took the overlays, gear indicator, lens assembly and red needles off that and installed them on my cluster. The only thing that looks stock are the numbers on the odometers (the new speedo has black numbers on white background instead of the reverse on the pre-2001). Looks great and install is a snap because it's OEM. The only thing that takes a while is recalibrating the needles (that's a pain). The Auterra Software on my PDA made it fairly simple to recalibrate (lots of trial and error though).

I saw a speedo cluster from a '02 go for only $65 on eBay yesterday. That's less than a lot of the aftermarket gauge setups and it gives you the red needles and gear indicator as well.

celly... pics?

No pics, but it's just like any other white faced Sport/Sport Trac cluster, except my numbers on the odometer are white on black (stock is black on white). I've seen others post pics of theirs before. Might want to search around and you'll find some. There was I thread I remember seeing about someone installing the entire cluster straight across. I didn't want to do that so my mileage wouldn't be screwed up. The cluster I bought has about 20,000 more km on it than mine, so I may swap it out then. Not sure if it's worth it for the sake of the black on white numbers, but I can get the cluster out pretty fast now. I actually dreaded swapping out the gear indicator, but it was VERY simple to do.

I've seen white faced clusters come and go on eBay. They're definitely not as common as their black faced counterparts, but I did see one guy selling brand new ones for $100 or so once. The one that went for $65 had 78K miles on it. If you go that route, make sure the gear indicator cable is intact. I came across one at a yard that had been cut in order to get the cluster out quicker. It takes only seconds to disconnect the indicator properly once the outer panels are removed.

Thanks for the info.

Hey im having the same problem you are with the gauges. When you get the instructions with pictures, could you send them to me please? thanks

I just changed the whole thing. It's a direct bolt on for the 98. This was out of an 02. Here is how it looks.

Do any of you know anything about those dancing flame gauges they have on ebay, and if you do, do you know if those work good or not?

I planned on doing the same, but don't want the potential hassles of varying mileage. Luckly, I've got about 17000 km to go and I'll swap it then. I can get the cluster in and out of my X in about 15 minutes now so it's not nearly the hassle it was when I first tried.
