Anyone have a SOHC and have no muffler? How does it sound? Did u loose much power? I have a flowmaster now but i think the baffles are loose and its rattling. I also want something louder.

There was some guy with a red sport running straight pipes that dumped before the rear tires, I think he had a SOHC but I am not sure.

Search for sport straight pipes.

No luck on that search.

I did it on my 97 at first, it sounded good but on the ride from my exhaust shop to my house, I grew to hate it. I parked it for the night, and took it back the next day and put a dual in dual out Flowmaster. All I can say is that it is really loud.

Loose any noticble power when taking it off?

i'd hope no one has a sohc with no muffler.... eeew

nope, i couldnt tell if i lost any power

Ive pinpointed the rattling/ticking and its not the flowmaster. Its coming from the motor maybe where the headers are. THe noise kind of soundes like an old chevy or ford when the exhaust ticks. Any ideas what it might be?

I was nautious when i ran open headers on my 302....a v6 would just sound like a ricer...

And yes i noticed a loss of torque, even when i put on a flow dumped.
