Okay I am tired of changing my O2 sensors every few years now because they go bad:mad:. Have been using Bosh ones as that is all I could get around here:rolleyes:.

My stock ones lasted for many years and once I had to replace them it has been nothing but a problem keeping a set in the X for more then says three years tops:thumbdwn:.

So who makes the best O2 sensors for the 1st gen X and were is the best lace to get them as cost is important also.
Thanks for all your help people.:D

Well, I would look at WHY your O2 sensors are going out so soon, Now days O2 sensors are a 75k+ mile part....

Bosch are the OEM ones, and are regarded as THE ones to buy....

Look at it this way....when you cars temp gauge says it's running hot, do you swap out the sensor? Or flush the system, and diagnose from there?

Think about it.

Have checked every reason for them to be going out and have found no reason for it at all.
Truck is maintained. Has never over heated. Fact is a whole new cooling system was put in about two years ago because of a leak in the radiator and at that time all new house and water pump, sensors and heater core were installed also. Cooling fluid was just flushed and changed this week because of time (24 months) not mileage. This is why I do not understand them going out like they have been as your right they should last at lest 75,000 miles but normal change time is about 50 to 60,000 miles not at the 20 to 30 that I get if I am lucky.

Also if I lose one the other one is never far behind in going out. Most times they throw a CEL but not this time just a ruff ideal. Only the KOER test showed any codes and they both showed lean with all trouble shooting done to eliminate any other reasons for the codes.

It has been always this same way but one time and that time a wire did get pinched and cut but that was taken care of by the shop that had done some work on the tranny and caused the problem.

what is your idle speed? It should be 650 to 750 RPM. I just discovered that a BAD Idle Speed Controller caused my Ex to run slightly lean and eat a couple of plugs while they (the plugs) were only 2 K miles old. If (as mine did) your heat gauge reads low due to a corroded heat sensor, then the trouble is accentuated.

wood1 I would like to know also as I am sure you can see.

BTWGUY Idle speed is right at about 675. Plugs all look good and are burning okay but do show a bit lean also
Temp gage reads were it has always and the whole cooling system was changed and replaced about two years ago now fact is I just flushed the system and replaced the coolant because of time not miles or any problem. My father would never change it tell he had problems I learned from him that is better to do it how you should then wish you had on the side of the road.

At this point I am almost sure its the O2 sensors again as every thing that could lead to a lean condition has been check that I know of and like my other post when trouble shooting it said there has been no CEL the only way I knew of the codes was doing a KOER test and that is were they show and only there. Do wish I had one other person to help me here as lying on the ground and trying to read a meter with only me just is not working to well because of my disability GGGRRRR!

well I may not need them after all some how re cleaning the MAF and the AIC again seamed to some how clear the codes, Funny part all of this was done during the trouble shooting and all tested good . Go's to show ya just never know with these darn computer thingys!

Glad it cleared up and wish you luck.

I'm just glad you saved the money by not having to buy new sensors....

People are always too quick to repalce the O2 sensors....I would go so far as to say that 90% of O2 sensor replacements are NOT NEEDED...there are other issues in the system that need addressing.

O I am never fast replacing parts I am just too cheap to do that LOL. I try to get the most out of what I got even to trying to cleaning sensors if I can after all what I have I got to lose if they need replacing any way right!
