It sounds like my injectors got very noisy lately. Anybody replaced them on a V8 ?

Any hints, special procedure ?

Thanks

It's a straight forward fix.

1. Release fuel pressure
2. Unbolt Fuel Rail
3. Pull off fuel rail with injectors attached
4. Replace O-Rings
5. Lube them with vaseline
6. Reverse procedure.

Injectors are typically a component that is not replaced. If they are dirty/plugged a good $100.00 injector cleaning at the dealership or other shop that has the machine to do it is all you need to get it back to normal performance. Are you sure that the sound is not from noisy lifters instead?

It sounds like injectors, although lifters may be noisy too at 160k miles. I have a mechanic stethoscope, and unplugged all 4 on 1 side, and the noise went away substantially. I got a set of 8 Motorcraft injectors with just few hundred miles on them from a 2007 Mustang GT from a guy who installed a supercharger and needed higher flow ones, for just $ 80 so if it's not them, than no big loss. I'll update when done.
