Whoops! Steps of washing your engine.

Well Club 4X4ORD had a good time last weekend. We were going around Rampart Range. We noticed a "small" mud hole (it looked small anyway) Luckily I made my friend go first. Oops! It only took 2 Explorers to pull him out. He dragged a log and ton of mud out with him too.

After we got his truck out we waited almost 2 hours to let everything dry. We got it started a couple times, but it stalled out when he pushed the gas. I had to tow him all the way back. But the next day, it started right up. BUILT FORD TOUGH!!! I guess.

Someone had to try it, right.

Tell him to get a lift and tires for that truck. It looks like a perfect "starter" truck to modify.

Glad to hear it started, Chris. I thought he was going to have to do a lot of work on that thing to get it going again. All in all, that was a fun day.

Yea that happened to my 91 xplorer sport 2wd, i just floored it into a big puddle and the same thing happened, it started, it even idled around and putted back and forth, but when you pressed the gas it'd cut off, does anyone have any idea how that happened, water in the intake maybe???

Um...Yes that would be water in the intake. If you ever have your engine die while crossing water you shouldn't start it again without taking your spark plugs out. Too much water in the cylinders and you'll toast the engine.
