Who's in NJ? Where?

Ahhh damn! I think i just blew my transmission. Crap. Last time i was out in the woods i pushed her kinda hard and it leaks randomly and pretty much lost reverse. Well see what happens though. If i can make it ill definitely let you know.

I've got almost everything you need for a m5od swap. If a 94 Ranger computer will work, then I have everything you would need.

Does anyone have a MIG welder they'd let me use? I really want to build a set of sliders for the rig.

I'd be willing to help with the swap!

I can lend a hand too, as long as my (pregnant) wife doesnt have any other plans for me. she's had me getting the house ready for the baby. Its not that hard, I've done the swap twice before.

Really? Will the m5od fit in my explorer? That would be sweet. how much do you want for it?

Yes, It will fit. I did this swap on my '94 limited.

$300 for everything.
I have (all from a '94 Ranger 4.0l 4x4):
trans ( shifter needs rebuild, kits about $20 on ebay)
flywheel and bolts
clutch (used, but worked when I drove the truck up onto the trailer, the only time I drove it)
block plate
starter
trans harness
pedals
94 ranger computer (4.0l 5spd. like i said, i dont know if it will work)
master and slave (but I ALWAYS recommend replacing these)
manual column ( no auto shifter on it, but its got the stupid little key release button)

Other stuff I may have, have to look:
clutch pedal switch
shifter handle and knob
shifter boot
PRNDL delete panel (to replace the gear indicator in cluster)

Ok. Ill let you know. I think me and my friend are buying an explorer and swapping the trans and parting out the rest though. So well see. But thanks alot for the offer. I appreciate it either way.

Where exactly in Jersey are you guys meeting? I think I know where you guys are meeting but it's been a long time. I might come up for the day and ride along if someone has an extra seat for me.

lol i loved wheeling my Chevy!!

But i don't have that chevy anymore... traded it in a year ago.

PM on its way :salute:

Wharton State Park, the specific meeting place is Atsion Ranger Station on 206. And Scooz, I'll help ya with your trans swap too. Just gotta give me a hollar, like I've said, I've installed my own trans so I have a little experience with exploder transmissions.

A general shout-out:

We're planning monthly off road trips to the Pine Barrens (Wharton) the last sunday of every month. Anyone is welcome to come, doesn't matter if you're a little stocker or a huge lifted mudder/crawler. Just give me a PM and let me know you're comming and what you're driving so I can wait for you with the rest of the crew. I have friends from other 4x4 sites who get their tri-state area people involved, so it's my job as the explorerforums dude to know who's comming and such.

i cant make it for this trail ride, but hopefully the next. i got my a4ld in last night, it wasnt too hard.

does anyone have a lift for sale? or a lunchbox locker?

When I'm done my SAS I'll have all of my current parts for sale. Aussie Locked 8.8 with 3.27 gears, all my lift parts, etc.

You have the aussie locker in the rear. What about up front? I have it up front only w/ an open rear. I'm afraid to put one in the rear for lack of 2wd or wet on road saftey. I heard they really push in the snow and wet into DAngerous sitUaTIONS. Sorry my son's by he caps lock key!

Ditto... I'd love a Torsen, No-Slip or a selectable for the rear (Too Bad it's $$). Is you truck a DD?

Not so much any more. I have a Sub now for DD. The Ex is used for "special occasions" and off roading pretty much. But I'd be driving where ever we're wheelin so...I love the aussie up front tho. There are some times that I really need it both up front and in back. Like when the FD boys dared me to climb a soft melting big pile of snow a couple weeks ago!

I thought about just throwing a $250 Aussie in the front, but I worry about snappin CVs

I've got my aussie in the rear and I've driven in nasty rain storms, the snow, and it all. I've had absolutely no problems. I've slid in the rain more with an open diff than with my aussie. Honestly...selectable lockers are over-rated. I have a buddy who has a 8" lifted rock crawling cherokee and it runs with two aussie lockers and he does proffessional competitions and drives it daily...he runs with the best and has no problems doing normal stuff.

That is really cool to hear. I'm gonna have to slap one in the rear this spring or summer! Thanx!
