Why do I need to buy torsion keys? Why not just crank bolt?

All the videos I see show people cranking the bolt - So why do I have to buy the keys? I just want a 2" lift.

Do the keys allow for more preloading for higher lifting?

Most of the time you can get the desired lift you want by just cranking the the bolts. But if the torsion bars are sagged you won’t get as much lift. I needed keys because my driver side bar was sagged(typical), to get the 2 sides to match.

long before the keys were available we would install longer bolts and crank then to get 1.5-2" of front suspension ride height
