I have a 99 eddie bauer 5.0 and my back end kicks out sometimes even when i don't give it alot of gas. I thought all of the eddie bauer's were all-wheel drive. It does it even more when it rains. I had a mustang that didn't kick out as much as this explorer does. :dunno:

5.0s only came in all time AWD or 2wd only. You probably have the 2wd version (or your transfer case is not working correctly.)

What kind of tires are you running? How much tread depth? Are you accelerating harder than you think. I tell you this, I had a Dodge Intrepid that was utterly dangerous in the snow. Going around corners, it would dirt track something crazy, and it was front wheel drive. Tire tread and depth, something to look at!

In all honesty, unless you're on snow, gravel/dirt, very wet pavement, have seriously sh***y tires, or some major upgrades, you shouldn't be feeling your front tires spin.
