Anyone else that is sas or wider than normal might have the same prob. I cant find a place around me to do my alignment. It is because i dont fit on there equipment. I said no way to one shop and they put it on there and said you see that and call me a stupid a@%.

I think i can put different rims on it with a different offset but not sure.

I've got a yard stick.....................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................to beat them with!

why dont you do it?

I doubt you would notice a difference on a SAS'ed explorer between a computer alignment and one you do.

Because of time. Trying to go to school, get a business started, editing a tv program, and sleep i dont have the time.

They must have limited equipment. The place I go to has two systems. One, the new computerized put on a lift system with rotating things for the tires to sit on and the old school hang light projector looking things from the wheels and put the front tires on lazy susan looking things.

Last time he used the light style and got my alignment perfect. He has done it on the newer computerized system too but has a harder time getting the lasers to hand well when I have tires with rim protectors (BFG ATs)

find another place, your place must suck.... if they can do a fullsize rig, (what your axle came from) then they can do your truck... ive performed alignemnts on SA fronts on the floor with the turnplates and the alignment haeads, you dont have to be on a lift or alignment rack to do it.....

This place is the best in the town i live in. I must give them there props that they have got from good hard work.

Thats what i said about it but the rims are not stock. These rims stuck out of the 78 f150 i took the axle and rims out of. It was really wide.

I have a set of rims off a big bronce that im gonna swap on and run it down there.

This really ended up to be more of a rant than anything.

People have said that they cannot align my tires too. I have 2 in backspace...so maybe thats why...

DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE 2 IN BACKSPACE AND HAS TROUBLE GETTING AN ALIGNMENT??

again, as i said earlier, if they cant do the alignment they either dont have the right basic equipment or they suck.....

i used to work for a chain store, and we could align anything up to a 22" rim... didnt matter if it had a lip or not... as for width of the vehicle, nothing is really wide... it still has to fit in a lane.. we did fullsize box trucks, and those are as wide as they come....

i'm not sure what kind of alignment we're talking about, wheel alignments or front end alignments... her ein augusta people call them two different things.

whenever i try to get my wheels and front end done at once, it never turns out. the wheels are balanced and weighed, but when they go to do the front end, it continues to pull to one side... any ideas anyone?

FYI, if the camber and caster settings are not made equal side to side, the vehicle will pull to one side(flat surface). Typically they purposely set the left to have more caster, pulling to the left.

After installing F150 coil spring spacers and Warrior shackles on my 94 XLT, I took mine to 4Wheel Parts for alignment; they had the shems needed and did an excellent job in a cou:)ple hours!
