maybe the seat was elevateD? i have driven both styles, and i think both are pretty much the same. long as you put the seat in the same position for both x's, i dont see why there would be a difference. maybe in the rear seats, but tahts obvious.

There should be no difference in front headroom, except if the seats have different power options or backrest styles.

And please don't type in all caps, thanks.

There is a difference if the vehicles have power seats vs. manual, or if there is a power sunroof in one. I bought my X with manual seats because it gave me slightly more leg and headroom than one with power seats. Having a power sunroof in the vehicle lowers the headliner to conceal the electronics for the sunroof.

My explorer has no sunroof but my dads does, there is like an inch or more of lost head room w/ the sunroof.

(theyre both 4 doors)

I'm 5'10, my X has power seats and sunroof and I'm not concerned with headroom...
If you have a sunroof, are tall and concerned about headroom, lean to the right with the sunroof open and your headrooms issues are moot... unlimited headroom! ;) (Just dont smile while driving or you'll need to carry toothpicks and/or floss.)

What's wrong with typing all capitals?

Typing in all caps gives the impression of yelling. It is also more difficult to read.

Makes sense. Thanks. Dom

in our 02, my head rubs. Thats with a sunroof and the seat the whole way down. In the 95, i have like 3 or 4 inches till i rub, and thats with the seat half-way down.

I have the seat bottomed out in mine and pretty close to all the way back. I have the sunroof and have more room than I know what to do with! Also, I think it has more to do with your torso height (or neck length :D ) than anything cause my Dad is an inch taller than me but he scraps in whatever he drives!

And I do think the power seats have the potential to set lower than manual ones, don't they?

I think so, atleast from driver seat to passanger seat. Highth is set on passanger, but driver can go up and down quite a bit

I know for a fact that in the '01 they do not go lower than the manual seats. That's the reason I got one with manual seats. I test drove two vehicles. One with power seats and one with manual seats, and I was farther from the headliner with the manual seats. BTW, both were 4 door X's and neither had a sunroof.
