Alright Im confused. Ive recently been having problems with what appears to be electrical engine surges lights flicker and the other day the battery light came on. I posted a message earlier about this. So today I went out and bought a code reader I read the book step by step that came with it but when I make it to a certain point every time the code says i interfered with the test. I was standing about 2 feet away the truck and listening to the beeps and the same thing 5 times. well that is wierdness number 1. number 2 is I decided to unplug the voltage regulator and start it up. reved the engine a few times and then shut it off and reconnected the plug to the voltage regulator started the up again and now the battery light is off and the gauge has moved up a little tested battery with a volt meter and it shows and extra volt right aroun 13 - 14 volts running. why would disconnecting the voltage regulator and then reconnecting it change this. also ive noticed that my mixture is out of whack lots of fuel smell coming out of the exhaust. the exhaust does need to be replaced a couple of small holes are forming in it. could falling apart exhaust cause a sensor to be misread the exhaust manifold is fine no leaks there just the muffler and cat seem to be rusting out. also there is a miss when running at idle. well thats alot of stuff. if any is willing to read through all this and no of some ideas please post any help is appreciated
