Will 265/70-16 tires work on a 95 eddie bauer? i know the eb has funky flares, and was wondering if they cause any rubbing issues with oversized tires.

Thanks

I assume you will have to trim some.....you may want to try a torsion lift to give better clearance...but I am no one to be answering questions...

Should work just fine.

Rob,
The 265/70s should work well. Mine came with 255/70R16s stock and they had tons of space in there. My 32x11.5s still have tons of room in the rear and only rub on the sway bars in the front on full lock.

what about 265/75s?

what about 265/75s? I'd like these if i can, I know they'd look cool at least.

Thanks

Yes, but...

You will be able to fit 265/75r16's if you are willing to do the torsion twist lift to get your rig up 1.5" or so, and lift the back to match with shackles, add-a-leafs, or the new OME springs.

When you partially turn your wheels the EB front running board flare may be a problem where it wraps into the bottom back of your front fenderwells. The outside edge of your tire may try to rub an inch or so of the inside of that. If that is the case, you can carefully trim that inside section (no one would ever notice it wasn't stock) and you are good to go.

I've got 285/75r16's on my '99 EB.

Tom Wilk got 265/75r16's on his Sport with no lift. You might ask him how much clearance he had at the back of his front wheels. I saw them at Moab but cannot remember. You'd have a little less with your EB trim.

That would be my cue...

The only thing I had to do was trim a bit of the plastic on the inside of the wheel well, behind the tires. Only one side rubbed, and only when I turned the wheels about 20 degrees. On Gerald's suggestion, I trimmed the other side an equal amount. There was about 1/2" of clearance between the front of the tire and the bumper as I turned the wheels as well.

Up and down clearance was not a problem. I did not rub even at full compression. Rear tire clearance was not a problem either.

265/70's are just a bit shorter, but the same width as the 75's, so they may fit a little easier.
