will 31s fit on my explorer?

I have a 98 ford explorer 4x4 no lift. I was wanting to know if 31s would clear?
also I was wanting to buy some new rims and the rims ive found has a -12mm backspacing. would they fit and would 31s clear? or would I need smaller tires

in short, Yes. I had 31s on my stock 98 Ex.

Yes , I've put 31x10.5 bfg all terrain on several stock second gen explorers

I'm currently running 31x10.5 mud claws on stock 15s on my 98 xlt. No TT or anything. Don't rub a bit. Have a set of 32x11.5s on my 00 xlt that I offroad in with only about 1" 1/2 TT and no rubbing unless at full flex.. However, My front bumper is infact cut for clearance on trails but other than that no problems!!

Put a set of 31s back on the explorer. A little rubbing at full turn. nothing to worry about.
