will the 06-07 tails fit an 02-05?

It's been discussed before. There was actually a good write up on it somewhere.
I'm sure someone will chime in.

Simple answer is no.

With a little work anything is possible. Biggest PITA that I remember was that you have to rewire the sockets.

i put the 06 taillights on my 02 x ....only problem was that the new taillights have that extra light on the top and i had to cut a lil of the body to fit them in...its a lil work but it could be done....send me a message and ill try to send u the website for it

i did it to my 03 they fit pretty good for me. my friend cut out the reverse light holes to fit the stock bulbs from the 02-05 since the 06-07s have a small reverse light as for the top light im not really worried about it maybe one day ill wire it in but right now its fine with a peace of tape on it lol

How funny, I was sat on a parking lot tonight, with a 07 in front of me.. and though how those tail lights would look so cool in my Black X.... I wondered will they fit in the body without modification?... then I log on tonight... and the answer is in front of me... I think Ill keep an eye out for a set.. I dont mind wiring changes to change the pigtails...

I agree they look great on your X. I have been thinking of getting them as well and wondered how much work it would be if modifcation was needed. We'll see I may go for it one day.

lil modification got them on my 02 x....basic wiring skills and your good to go....if you have a black X like mine they look awesome

AWESOME!! I was thinking of doing the same thing once I get my Explorer. I just totalled my 03' Mustang and am getting a black '04 Explorer. Where do you guys find the tail lights to purchase??
