I looked over all of the posts regarding power windows and none seem to fit my issue. I have a '95 Explorer Sport. The windows used to work, but now they just click like they want to go up or down but don't. I took off the side panel and with a little tug they will go up and down without a problem. When I put it all back together they sound like they want to work, but don't. If I push down on the glass they seem to "catch" and go down and the same with trying to get them up. It doesn't sound like a relay. I called a electric window repair guy and he said it's a plastic piece dealing with the motor that becomes brittle from age and breaks. Is this true or is he trying to make a huge profit from an easy fix? Each window will cost me $110 for him to do it. Is this right??? The window is on the track but it just clicks from the door panel. It's frustrating because it sounds like it wants to work. The clicking sounds like it's off the track which is why I took the panel off thinking it's a quick fix. Hope I covered everything.
