I have a 99 Explorer the window regulator somehow got bent up so I need a new one.
The motor works fine.
I know I can replace it but was wondering buy just the regulator by itself or the whole unit with the motor?
The price difference is about $46.00 I can use that on other parts.
Has anyone change the just the motor or just the regulator?

Dorman makes replacement window regulators. they should be available through most local auto parts stores or through RockAuto.

koda2000 I seen them.
Just wondering how hard it is to replace the motor onto a new regulator or just get the whole unit.

Usually pretty easy to mount a motor to a regulator; just 3-4 bolts or rivets hold the motor on. My issue on my 98 Navigator was the same; motor was fine, but regulator broke. Got one from a JY. The assembly is usually riveted to the door; but you can usually replace the rivets w bolts and nylon lock nuts. My 98 Navigator was that way; it's usually pretty similar to the Explorer, since it's really just a tarted-up F150. Good excuse to buy a riveter; I bought a fairly hefty one from Harbor Freight on sale for $20 that works like a charm. Good luck.

So you just got the regulator.
I have a riveter from HF also and I can use the extra $40.00 I save buying just the regulator on something els.
