This one has me baffled. 97 ranger, truck was driven into a running wash. water up to mid door level. dragged it out of the muck removed interior cleaned everything. truck runs fine for the past year. at the time the only things not working were the power windows and the aftermarket radio has no sound. first the windows, have checked all fuses, swapped relays under dash can't find anything amiss, door locks work. radio powers up, power to both yel and red. in checking around i am seeing info on GEM modules(hugh whats that?) relays etc. does anyone know what is actually in the circuits to control the windows, i can't find a specific diagram for the 97. any help would be appreciated.

Info on the GEM. You may have to start at the locks, and windows and work backwards.

Its highly unlikely that its a GEM problem. For windows, check for power at the LB/BK coming into the control switches and then go from there.

Is there a wiring diagram available for this vehicle? I dave tried the chiltons but it is too generic, covers 94-99 in one drawing and i know that isn't right.

got to the bottom of the radio problem, but still cannot find diagram for windows. in this vehicle there is no large relay under the dash, only a group of 7 small relays in the box. the parts people came up with a standard size ice cube relay with a tab for mounting with screw he suggested it is on the firewall in the engine compartment. does anyone have any idea?
