The windows on my 92 explorer will not operate intermittantly. I can sometimes roll windows down, and then wont go up. occasionally, it will go up right away, but sometimes wont go up till later. I have already replaced the master control panel on the driver side door, but still get the same results. I have found a reference in my owners manual to a relay of some sort mentioning the power windows located somewhere behind the instrument panel. Unfortunately, the owners manual is not very descriptive. Any suggestions?

I know the switches go out commonly

try opening and closing your driver's side door.... its likely a broken wire going thru your door post.

other switches

If it were a broken wire, wouldn't the switches on the other door still operate?

depends on what wire is broken.... actually all wiring for windows goes back to the master on the drivers.... ssssooooo even though you think that the switch in the other door is "just right there next to the window".... the wiring doesn't work quite like that. And when I say "goes back".... probably mean more like "comes from"... as in the case of battery and ground. I don't have a 92 schematic but in general that how windows are controlled.... battery (ground) to master switches then to master window and to other switches / windows.
