Hey Just a quick question I have a 2000 Mountaineer and my windshield fluid isn't pumping. Tubes seemed to be defrosted and not an issue, the reseivor is filled because the rear window works just fine.

Anyone have any ideas what is happeneing here?

Could be the pump doesn't reverse anymore, or the line is unplugged going to the front.

Is the MFS running the wipers when you push it?

the rear has its own tank

Not in 2000 it doesn't. It has a hose running from the front tank, and reverses the pump to direct the fluid to the rear window.

If you have a '97 and a 2000, go scope both of your Ex's...

Check the relay. I had the same problem with my 2000 Sport. There's an auxiliary relay box up by the air intake box. In that relay box there are relays for the front washer, the rear washer, and a few other things. I replaced the relay and it's working fine now.

My '97 ex wouldn't wash the front windshield but the back worked fine. The wipers worked llike they should when I pushed the button but no fluid. I checked [swapped] the relays but still no luck so I pulled the fuse even though it wasn't blown and put it back in. Problem solved. I wish everything else was so easy. Give it a try.

The fuse can blow also, it's a 7.5 amp minifuse, all it controls is the pump... Had to replace mine last week.
