Windshield wipers

I just stared having this problem where the front windshield wipers will not work unless its put on the highest setting, i found out today when it started to rain.

does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

More than likely the motor will need to be replaced. I had a similar problem, mine would only work in hi and low and would not return when turned off.
I replaced the multifunction switch first, waste of time and money. Then I picked up a motor from the junkyard, works great now.
From what I understand its pretty rare for a wiper motor to screw up, but they do.
