It poured yesterday and when I shut off my windshield wipers they remained on, at the lowest setting. Any ideas what this might be or how to fix? Thanks. Its a 1992 Ford Explorer

When this happened to me a couple of months ago, I found that I had just twisted the knob too hard and it had "jumped" so that it wasn't quite off when it showed off. A little twist to get it to slip back into place and it was back to normal.

Twist as in pulling it toward you more?

I'm assuming yours is the same as mine.

Pulling the handle towards you activates the "flash to pass" headlight feature.

The outer end of the signal switch controls the washer/wipers. The end rotates to select the different speeds/delays. It was this outer end that had slipped causing the detents not to line up right.
