Wiper Blades

I just thought I'd share my experience going with 20 inch blades. First, it clears MUCH more. I only purchased cheapies to hold me over until the PIAA blades come out, but they are still decent.

20" do not go off the glass in any spots. However, when turned off, they rest a little on the plastic venting above the hood. Not enough to matter, but enough to be noticed if you look closely.

Overall, I recommend going bigger. The added viewing area is very convenient.

Do they slap the cowl at all on low or hi?

stephen, i went with 21" blades, and mine do not ever touch either the cowl or go off the glass at any time. in a previous post in another forum, i inadvertently stated that i had gone with 22" blades. sorry for the mistake. i think what i was thinking was that i am planning to go with 22" blades next time, as i still have some room to go bigger.

I couldn't hear or see them going onto the cowling at all tonight. I ran them at normal and high speed and it was all good. Mine are 20 inchers, you can definitely get 21" or 22" however.

Same boat! First thing I did was put 20"s on mine. No rubbing at all anywhere. I might try 21, or 22" My other car (Chrylser 300M) takes a 24" drivers side, & a 28" passanger side!

Are you guys putting rain-x on your windows? Cause last night I got to try it out for the first time when this set of killer t-storms came through and I didn't even need the damn wipers. You should give it a try, put it on half the windshield and leave the other half without it and see the difference. Just another option.

I think rainX & products like that work great, but I do not use them because of a slimmy/greasy residue they leave behind. Especially when it's real hot out.

the rainx stuff is good until it wears off and in my experience it will screw up the wiper blades over time..

My Lexus uses a 28 drivers side and a 16 Passenger...I think.

RainX doesnt last real long, and it doesnt like heat thats why I use STP VisionBlade. Works much better.

i have had bad luck with rain-x. not anything about the product, mind you, but it seems that whenever i used it, i would end up wrecking the vehicle i had put it on!! that is no fun!!

I use this airplane wax that I found in my garage on my windshield. There is no residue and it protects the windsheild also. You can also use it as wax for the paint. I think it is called "Slip-Stream Aircraft Wax". Not shure if it is still made because the can looks like it is about thirty years old.

Be careful there, that probably destroys the clearcoat.
