I have a 200 watt amp (small) and a 700 watt amp (big)

I have the small amp on the door speakers and the big amp on the sub. I want to just have the door speakers run off the radio and have both amps push the sub.

I need a wireing diagram that can show me how to do this or have someone walk me through it.

The big amp has 2 sets of rca's and the small amp only has one. (If that helps anny)

You cannot do this, it will not work.
:)

Kabloeeeyyy!!!

cannot be done

Well I guess what they are saying is, if you do wire it up, even if you do it the "right"way your sub will blow up faster than Saddams palaces.

You mine as well take the sub, hook up a couple wires to it and plug them into the wall socket in your house, just about the same result.

Now 700 watts for a sub should be PLENTY, if it is a true 700 watts and a good sub with the right enclosure.

700watts..pfft 2k or die =) jk lol

But if ya do try it lemmie know I wanna come watch.

I have some dead amps I'll give you in exchange for your current ones... it would save you all the hassle of splitting wires, hooking 'em up, buying a fire extinguisher, explaining to the insurence how your ex caught on fire, trying to find a new ride, yada yada yada..... :D

Hell, one of the amps still smokes when attached to power, so you WOULD be getting some of the same effects.

anyways, just buy one good amp... dont go messing around w/ a bunch of smaller amps and hooking 'em all together. They might do this:

is there only a certain kind of sub that can do this? If so how would it work. (I don't appreatiate yall cracking jokes on my stuff) :nono:

bnichols, what you are thinking of is a dual voice coil subwoofer, but even then you should not power the individual coils with seperate amps, if anything like this IS done it should be a professional who knows what they are doing, you see if the sub isnt getting the EXACT same amount of power and the exact same signal to both voice coils = KABLOOEY
700W + 200W does not = 900W it equals you just blew up everything

Hey, I can crack jokes, I was trying to do somewhat of the same thing you were trying to do. I had 3 gm-x962 amps(not exactly the best, but they hit pretty nice... when they work...)... one was well kinda dead already, but it is a long story - only I had to solder on RCA connectors to inorder to use it, and the other one, which I had had for 2 years just randomly started smoking when I hooked it upto power. But two of them were going to have their channels hooked up to power each side of my box.

Also, have you seen upclose shots of my subs? They look like sh&t. Me, being the genious that I am put the ONE sub that had a crack in the plastic MTX logo in the dead CENTER of the box.... me = genious...

well my roommate and his gf thingamajig just decided to start going at it in the loft next to me while I was posting so, I'll catch y'all later.

wiring two amps together......

You can wire two amps together, but you need to use the high pass and low pass to direct frequencies. I do NOT recommend you wire each coil individually unless you want to dig into your wallet again. My recommendation is simple, power the subs with one amp and daisy chain the second amp. If you want to grab the DVC frequency with two amps why not just bridge your amp terminals (one amp) and connect your subs. Then with the multi-channel amp direct them to the other speakers. I hope I made sense. Also most subs are rated 2ohm or 4ohm, dual or single to give multiple wiring capabilities. Again, do not wire DVC individually you defeat the purpose of the sub and the mistake, even if professionally done will teach you a hard lesson.

there ARE certain amps however that have the ability to be wired together to run 1 sub..solox? =)

YES you can hook up two amps.

only certain companies though. the older rockford fosgate amps and the new bostwicks..
they also have jumper settings to change your wattage.

we just put 4000-5000 into a truck, not sure how much exactly because one of the amps sucks.

dude you seem like a novice at audio stuff. what sub are you running. not to many subs can handle two subs pushing it. and if its good enought o handle it then you must have spent alot of money on it and you need to sell both of you other amps and buy 1 good amp. that 1 good amp will sound alot better than 2 ****ty ones.
