Wireing a new amp up to a factory head unit

'97 XLT SOHC
I'm thinking of wireing up a new alpine amp to the stock head unit in my x. Since its preamp the whole way back to the amp it should work, right? I don't see any problems with doing it that way, if ya do let me know, thanks

I did the same thing with my amp. I simply tapped off of the pre-amp inputs from my stock amp and it sounds great!

I got another question for ya. How can u tap off of the preamp inputs on the amp, i thought they were the weired stock connectors? I haven't looked at mine yet because the moneys a little short, i'm just gettin info...lol

Yes you do. I forget wat year they started making the amps internal.
 






He prolly won't respond to this. He's away for 2 weeks. I'm not sure what he's going to do.
