Hi Everyone,

2001 XLT, premium, but not Mach system
I'm installing a new HU and when I pulled out stock stereo, I noticed two wiring harnesses. Is the smaller one for back seat controls? and if so how can I wire into my new HU?
I also have CD changer in armrest... is smaller plug for that? Thanks for any help.

i was told that the rear controls are now useless once you install an aftermarket HU..but you can however keep the steering wheel controls if you so desire

Rear control will NOT work with the new HU. The steering wheel controls will however.

so why can you keep the steering wheel controls but not the rear?..they are basically the same set up.....not that i really care..

actually you can get something that allows you to use back seat and steering wheel controls for the new headunit. i forget what its called though. somebody will show up and tell us...

talked to 3 high profile install shops and they all said rear controls are useless
