wiring pin out for 93 w/ premo sound

good evening,

i have a am/fm & tape deck from a 93 explorer with the premo sound. i want to put this into an 88 isuzu trooper. i have been told that i cannot do this because the x's radio has to go to the amps in order to be heard by anything. is this true? i would like to splice the things together and not have to buy something else.

That's right, the radios didn't have amps in them. You could swap the amp out of your X and into the Isuzu, but aftermarket HU's are so much better than stock "premium".
