Got a 2000 limited 5.0. Ran out for awhile, stopped home for ten minutes, came out and it was dead. Turned the key forward and it doesn't crank, the fuel pump doesn't run. The dash board does not light up but the theft light links as it normally does.
Battery seems newer, and tried the ignition switch because it was only $18. Maybe the ignition tumbler ? They are expensive and have to be recorded. I pulled mine out and it appears in good shape and the key turns freely.
Didn't find any bad fuses.. not sure how to check relay but that's only other thing I can think of.
It did have an aftermarket remote start system that I removed thinking maybe it was the problem. It was easy to spot the aftermarket wiring and it just tapped into the stock harness at all connections, no wires were cut. I simply cut it out entirely.
