Hello all,

I have done searches for starters and batteries..but my problem seems to be a bit different. Today the car ceased to start, when turning the key, the car makes a continuous clicking noise that sounds like a round of bullets. Could this be the starter? The solenoid? Or the battery? The interior and exterior lights work and everything else seems to work when the car is in the on position, so I assume the battery is not the problem. Any help would be appreciated! It's a 96 limited, no mods and the original battery.

Yep, it's the battery. I can almost guarantee it. It's about time for yours to go if it's the original. You can try cleaning the terminals to "cheat" and make it start. But it still won't last you much longer.

Try jumpstaring it, drive it for 20 miles then park it see if it'll start an hour later
Maybe you got a load on the system somewhere. My grandpa had a no-start condition in his 96 Lincoln and they have to replace the radio and the ECU and it hasn;t happened since.

Yay! It was the battery..imagine my relief! It was changed today and everything is good. Thanx for replying guys. But now I have another question, my seat memory no longer works. When I use the remote the seat changes position, but the actual buttons in the car have stopped working..along with the set light. I imagine it must be the fuse. I'm pretty sure I can change it myself but where do I get these fuses from?? Rather, what would be the best place to get them?

You have to reprogram it I believe since you had to disconenct the battery...check the procedure in the owners manual
