Shoulda used the money from not buying a cap to get a better amp then a sony. ;)

so u have 1 sub and the sony 770 amp? any other draws on ur power system? seems like the cap is kinda useless here i dunno

unless u have a 40amp alt id say take back the cap

caps are bandages and poor ones a that.

also aren't you the guy who was saying mtx were crappy amps?

then you go and buy a sony? i'm not gonna even degrade myself and say that sony are crap because i honestly feel that installed correctly they can work great, but they are no match for mtx.

I'm done.

A) I bought the Sony's because my last car was a show car, and they had a 2 and a 5 channel amp with the same footprint. And I still think MTX is crap. The Sony's won SQL competitions. Go figure. ;) It's all a matter of preference anyways. Install what you like and if it sounds good - rock on.

I'm MECP certified, I've done pro installs for a long time, and my systems sound good. The system in my Ex, after 7 hours of installing and tuning (unfortunately no pics, forgot my friggin' cam) sounds outstanding, but is in dire need of some cleanup. I'll snap some pics tomorrow, but once the weather gets warmer I'll certainly be building a good looking amprack/integrated sub enclosure. Right now it's just basically bolted to the seatbacks - but ... did I mention how good it sounds? :)

Anyways..

Put the amps in, 6.5 MBQuart components in the front. 6x9 MBQuarts in the back, a 2.0 Farad fosgate digitop cap, a polk 12" sub and some ventvisors for good measure. Even hardwired my radar detector. I am one tired guy.

Why dont you all put 6.5" in the rear doors also??

I had a sony amp that lasted one year and a half before it crapped out.

Well, my newfound dislike for Sony aside - here's my install. Basic for now, but it's wintertime. :) I'll be replacing that 5-channel Sony very, very soon.

Sup amp is an MTX Thunder 801 mono, 6x9 MBQuarts in the doors, 6.5 MBQuart components up front, Alpine CDA-7876 deck, 2 farad digi cap.

I'll be redoing it in the spring, but for now it's in and it's clean.
