Worst mishaps? You could say that!

Wow 2009 has not been my year! So my Limited is now dead. I was hopping it would not be totaled but it has been. Last night I went over a big hump in the road and I had just took the weight out of my back end. I fish tailed long story short I met this nice guy named Tree... Yeah totaled. I might buy it back and rebuild it my self, not to sure yet only time will tell! ###k I have been freaking out.

There is a RARE chance it might not be totaled but I don't see that happening... Oh well what can I do? I will just take off all my everything and put then on another one! Is that looking at the right side? Can Rick change my Screen Name to take in a account my new truck? If I do end up with a new one? Damn! Ugh! Oh well not been my year! Oh well what can I do? Live and learn?

2 years ago march I was thrown from a truck and put into a coma, so I'm a little worried about my head and what not.

Definitely justifiable to worry about that, my wife had something like that happen to her a few years back, closed head injury/concussion and broken collar bone. She still has really bad headaches from it. I do hope your Ex is salvageable, or if not, you get another one as nice or nicer than the Limited!

Actually doesn't look too bad, as long as the frame is alright.. Fender, Hood, Bumper, Header Panel, Grille, Lights.. Good as new.

What exactly is leaking? Tranny Cooler?

Yeah, right now it looks like I'm going to total it out then buy it back and Russ and I will fix it our selves. The biggest thing is the Core Support...

I repaired similar damage on my 02 Durango for under $400. Just need to find a decent parts place. If you do have frame damage it should be limited to the front bumper section and can be bent and twisted out with the help of crowbars and long steel cheater bars.

Check out this place on Ebay, I bought my parts from them and they do good deals on bulk shipping, only thing is you gotta paint the parts yourself.

Core support and frame horn is all that I can see and I have 3 explorer parts trucks on my land so thats not a problem. The one part I do not have is that 99-01 limited front bumper...

I have a damaged frame horn on the same side as you from one of my front end accidents... it wasn't replaced.. but it was bent back.. everything bolts up fine.

I have bent it too, but #### I don't know its just a waiting game and it's killing me all I know is I'm going to the bar tomorrow and I am getting so ****ty ass drunk!

More often than not if your frame has been damaged they will total it because aside from pulling the frame off and checking all the angles on it there is not much an adjuster or shop can do to be 100% sure its limited to that area. Did your airbags deploy? If so you can figure $3k per just on those at the insurance cost.

Nope air bags are fine, there is no frame damage just the frame horn...Oh well:thumbdwn:

You might get away with it then, I had similar damage also aside from the hood.

Hmmm, if you had frame damage I would have told you to make plans for it being totaled. Your best bet is to price parts then figure the $65-95 hourly labor charge. Just from eyeballing it, if it's just cosmetic damage I'd put you at about $2,500 damage from insurance perspective.

There is a gap between fender and door, was the door torqued at all?

Sounds about right, and I only spent about 1200 or so on the actual repairs.

In all honesty, going to a bar to get drunk (a temporary escape) is probably not the best thing to do -- you're putting yourself at risk with a ton of things on your mind and alcohol. But its your life so just be cautious.
