I never have liked little cars...
I never have liked little cars...
I liked my escort...it was a tough son-of-a-gun. Went off road more than my explorer ever has...![]()
Well, there is a little back story on this one. My buddy and I decided to drive from illinois to montana in january, and due to mechanical problems i was having at the time we took his ford contour instead of my ranger. This is in paradise valley, montana, after a night of having a little too much fun at the bar of chico hot springs.
Brian, my friend, decided to take the wheel after i had driven off the road and was doing doughnuts in a field. Keep in mind, it was before sunrise and we still hadnt completely recovered from the night before. Brian started driving, poorly, and all of a sudden we were going uphill. All i can recolect is me screaming NO NO NO STOP STOP STOP before CLUNK! We were perfectly centered on top of a ridge.
After four hours of everything we could think of, packing rocks and branches under the wheels, trying to push it off the jack, me walking two miles up a mountain to a massive log cabin, which we later found out was owned by Jeff Bridges, my buddy flagged down some cowboys in their truck, who decided to hook our tow strap to the rear lower control arm. This, of course, bent the living hell out of it, and caused us to drill though the tires within two hundred miles and leave us stranded in Billings for two days waiting for parts.
The ENTIRE time i was kicking myself for not bringing my truck, which would have had ample clearance to make it over that ridge
Lose a tire? lol
My latest in the Luv. Ran up on a tree, lifted a tire, and couldn't get it into reverse. Pretty much ####ed.
^^^^Good old front bumper Tupperware stopping power right there^^^^:
