Would you replace your radiator at 150k?

This is for preventative maintenance, I have my radiator out of the vehicle already. It's a 96 XLT 5.0, 150k miles. Radiator looks and performs fine.

Advance auto has Ready-Rad radiators for $129.99 after discount.

Nah. It's easy enough to remove, so I wouldn't replace just as preventative maintenance.

My 96 4.0 has 156k on it, btw. Not worried about it at all, but I do keep an eye on the fluids since I've had leaky hoses before.

not unless it was leaking. check the seal on the plastic tanks for green discoloration. that being said, these radiators tend to develop leaks at the tank seals at around 150k-160k.

really? i have 2 with 185k and both radiators have recently been replaced.

278K on my 97 5.0; still has original radiator.

My Radiator just went out over the winter at about 165,000... but stated above they can go much further then that. You never really know when they go out, but they are pretty easy to do anyway, so it is up to you really. aslong as you don't have brown sludge coming out of it I would just keep it.

I had over 500K miles on mine before it went south...
