i had a '93xlt that i was going to dinner in on sept.20 got less than 1mile from home and was hit by a drunk driver the guy didnt have insurance,it wasnt his car,the guy that owned the car didnt have insurance on it,im out of work for at least 8months.my 4 year old daughter was with me,thank god she didnt get hurt, butany way i went and purchased a96xlt 4.0 liter auto 4x4,and i was wondering if you guys could give some hints about problem areas on the 96.my 93 was great never gave me any trouble other than a fpr and a fuel sender, had 165,000 miles with no tranny problems.the 96 has 91,000 miles on it not bad for the year and sofar seems to be ok.not that i can drive my wife has to take me to the doctors and all since my heel was broke in 8 pieces.but any help is appreciated

They're pretty much the same motor so no surprises there, just a redesigned body. Sorry to hear about your crash. Good luck with your new truck! :)

Dude, I feel for you. I had a '91 XLT. Black pearl paint, nice stereo, and a remote starter. The guy I bought it from spent two weeks fixing up some parts that were rusted out. New front brakes. And 3 days after I registered it. Some first class yoyo plowed into me on the drivers side, and totaled it. But on the brighter side, with the insurance money I was able to buy a '92 XLT 5 speed, and a '92 Sport. Hope you are doing better man
