I went to Ford today to purchase a brake light switch for my '99 explorer sport and when i looked under by my brake pedal it doesn't look anything like what they gave me. Could they have given me the wrong part? Are there different brake light switches per year or is this something that has stayed the same for many years?
I have a switch that is about 1" in width and 2" in height with 2 prongs at one end. Yet, when i look under where i think it should be there is a black plastic looking switch.
Looking for any info or photos, as it is getting dark here and i am nervous about driving home 30 miles without brake lights.
