As an EBAY vet, make sure you do a search for what you want, then when the findings come up, click "View Completed Items" so you can see beforehand how much stuff generally goes for. Sometimes you can get caught up in the moment and bid way too much.

Maybe you'll want to even look at Crutchfield, and check out their Car specials first. They tend to give heavy discounts on last years stuff when most audio components are just repackaged with an updated face. Amp technology hasn't changed that much at all in the last few years, only in the number of extra bells and whistles they have, and the footprints seem to be getting increasingly large.

Good luck!

Jon

thanks a lot man. that's good advice. -russel

I have a rockford fosgate punch 500 for sale. It's 125 x2 at 4 ohms. Let me know if you are interested.

Just kinda looking around, not too sure if I'm interested, but how much do you want for the 500a2?

Looking for $300 for the amp, but will consider any fair offer.

What kind of 10's will you be pushing? That makes a HUGE difference. Also, regarding eBay shopping, there are a lot of great deals, but most of that cheap stuff on there is complete crap(pyramid, boss, etc.) You get what you pay for, keep that in mind. Try established places like www.soundhabit.com or www.tms-electronics.com and $300 for a used 500a2 is rediculous, not a bad amp, and you can grill your bugers on it while it runs! but that is way pricey for a used fosgate

I have lowered the price of the Fosgate amp to 250 and that includes all wiring. 8 gauge power and ground, fuse and fuseholder, rca cables, and remote wire.

Check ebay for a certain seller: "acadbru@aol.com". He has a lot of stuff and has a pretty good rating. For audio equip, try and buy from people with high seller ratings.

thanks guys for all the help. i ended up getting a kenwood 728s. i know they don't make the highest quality amps but for the money i have been well pleased in the past.
does anybody know if they are safe to run in two ohms though? that is bridged or stereo?

p.s.- i also picked up an alpine v12. it's only 50wx2 rms, but i figure it'll push my cw components.
