I gave her an oil change like I have been doing every 3,000 miles. Then paid $55.00 to get her inspected b/c NJ DMV will not pass it w/ a brush gaurd. Then I was on my way out to PA. Made it half way when she started to make noise. I pulled over looked underneath, checked the oil, check the filter for leaking made sure the drain plugg was in and all was fine. My pops reved the engine while I was under the hood, No noise. I started back on my way when the noise got worse. The she began to die. The engine was reving but the X was going no where. I pulled over shut her off. I then poped the hood and tried to start her, the engine was cranking but it would not kick over. The belts were not moving. Long story short the tow truck driver said, "You either blew the motor or if your lucky it was the timing chain" . So hopefully the mechanic can save her. 141,000 miles.

the engine wouldnt rev but not go anywhere if it was the timing chain would it?

If it was the chain, the engine would have just died instantly, wouldn't it have?

Ok so the Mechanic took her apart. I broke the Fly wheel. Total cost 600.00. Sucks to be me

last I checked $600 is way better than 5k + for an engine ;)

I figured it'd be another tranny, reving but no movement.

600 including labor? if so thats not bad at all. Also you can get through NJ inspection with a brushgaurd, I've done it and plenty of other people have done it.

my uncle did, too

Glad to here she didn't kick off!
