X-mas system

Alright since i've done so much to the outside of the X, i want to get some nice sound coming from the speakers at an afforable price. This will be for X-mas so here is what i think will be good:

Infinity 5 x 7 two-way speakers

and

Pioneer head unit, DEH-P4400

Dead Link Removed

Do you think i have a nice set up? or would you do differently?

how much will those 5x7's and hu run you? by the way i like the setup too. should have nice clean, crisp sound!

I had the Pioneer 4200 (the older version) I believe a while back until it was stolen...now I have the 6400 and I love it....The 4200 worked just as well. No complaints so far.

speakers are 100 a pair i beleave abd the HU is i think 170 at best buy

oh also should i by pass the amp in the back from the stock HU or what? i know my 6 CD player will not work w/ this HU so i'll take it out and sell it.

I personally would do it WAY differently, but I am a total audiophile freak and dont mind dropping 500-700 bones on my front speakers as long as they sound good. But ya, I would do it way different if you REALLY want some good sound in your car

Dude that is WAY to buch for a speaker! i could go buy a 12's and a amp for that money. i'm going on the cheap but still powerful!

go infinity... I use no other in any of my cars... although I do recommend their Kappa's. Well worth the extra $20-$50. Looks good though Digger. Different story in the house though... BO$E.. ahem...

my friends jeep has infinity and it sounds so nice. i got to find a 3 way infinity 5x7. best buy nor curcuit city have them. any other place other than crutchfeild have them?

I have those exact speakers . I really like them. They work awesome for the music I listen to (punk, emo, acoustic). I recently got a JVC headunit too. But I really like those speakers. 4 of those all the way around and you'll be set...

all i have to say is e-bay. I have 2 pairs of infinity 5x7 572.3s in my explorer. They were going from crutchfield for like 140. I went on e-bay and got them for 80 a pair brand spankin new.

They are great speakers. If you really wanna crank it up, without distortion, put some bass blockers on em, but i guess you would only do that if you had some subs in the back

I run mine with a Kenwood MP3 player and love em

Plus, the two JLs in the back fill in nicely.
