Hey
Well as some of you know, today was my attempt at finally flipping the adjusters and being done with this lowering job. Everything was cool, got the adjusters out, then I got a phone call that my friend ran out of gas about 5 miles away, so we hopped in my friends truck with a gas can and whatever. So we get back like 20mins later, and my friends continued to help work on the truck... I come back to the god dam thing being slammed. They took the torsion bars and everything out and wanted to screw with my head, and they said the torsion bar was bent, little did they know I actually know something about my suspension, and there's no way it could bend whatsoever, so I give them all the finger, they show me my bars and all in the room next door.
To make this quick, we started putting the bars back in and do the flip, but it continued to slam to the wheels, and we moved it up another notch, again, slammed. So we finally just said screw it, we'll do it some other time. So we flipped them the normal way, but for the life of us we couldn't get the adjusters back up far enough to slide the torsion plates in there, finally I had a bright idea, switched the bars and adjusters to the opposite side and it worked. I told them to just take it off at that point, knowing we can get it back in, and leave the truck in the shop overnight, and I'll hopefully get a solution to the problems. So after a ride home from a friend, I'm here.
So here's the questions...
When we finally attempted the flip (after the screwing around of taking the bars out), did it not work because as it resulted in the bars being in the wrong sides? It kept slamming to the wheels which obviously made the truck, well, not going anywhere, but seeing as we had the wrong bars on each side, could the flip now be somewhat possible?
I read up on people saying this is an easy thing, and I'll admit after screwing with the truck all day, it very well is. I have the 2/3 arm puller, and there's no timelimit or fee to return in, so I got some time.
Any insight on this would be awesome... TAS, maybe you could toss me some tips of your flip.
So yes, as of right now, truck is on jackstands, sucks. :[
