XLT options question?

I recently purchased a 1998 Explorer XLT and love the vehicle. I was wondering, how come my vehicle doesn't have the overhead compass and thermometer or the computer on the floor with the oil life indicator, etc? Could this vehicle really be an XLS that someone rebadged as an XLT? Did I get ripped off?

The oil life display on the center console is only available on the Eddie bauer models. And the overhead console is an additional option in option package 945b.
