ok, this might be a weird situation, but i'll try my best to explain it. I don't know a real lot about systems and stereos.

I have an xtant amp, i don't know which one, i know it's gold and it's about 1 1/2 feet wide. it's mounted to the back of my custom box.

Sometimes i hear a high pitch noise coming from it. I can stop the noise by pushing on the cover in certain places. So i tightened it, it went away for a few days, and then it's back, now if i pull on one corner of the cover it stops. Pretty much the noise has something to do with the cover, I don't understand it, does anyone here.

If there's a fan inside it might be a bearing? Or the top is just pressing down on it funny and causing some friction.

Is there an easy way to take the top off and have a look inside?

Ya, i guess i could pull the cover completely off, i don't think it's a bearing, though, the noise is like a really high pitch, that would probably annoy the hell out of a dog. It's hard to describe, kind of like when your ears are ringing, except multiply it by 50.

when you have the cover off, just apply a small amount of silicone, or just a small shred of foam or dynamat. If its vibration thats causing the sound, this should stop it.
