ok i have read post after post on exhaust options. the main things that i have read about people doing is either a dual inlet muffler (flowmaster 50) or using a y-pipe before the muffler. i was jsut wondering if there is any major drawback to using the y-pipe before the muffler? i.e major power loss

thanks

So you want it like this:

Off the manifolds you will keep the stock y-pipe and then let that run into one pipe and into the converter then break it back into two pipes before the muffler? I doubt any problems will come from them power wise. Just more probability for leaks. You may run out of space for all of this as well.

no...i have a sport so it goes into the muffler with two pipes...i was wondering if i installed a y-pipe, so that i could install a single inlet muffler since they are cheaper and easier to find, would this do any major damage to my x's performance?

i know somebody is running this setup....

It shouldnt hurt it but you are better off using a dual inlet single outlet muffler, let the muffler chamber combine the two bank gasses, dont rely on a Y pipe, it could hurt more then it helps.
