I'm still debating on whether or not I like this rack on top of my sport.. IMO it is too narrow and way way too short, if i could find a yakima extension cheap enough i could buy it and get somewhat of the look i want, but right now I am not happy. sooo.. i need some replies on what you guys think of it.

I don't care for it to much... it looks way narrow and it sits kinda high. If you could find one that was longer and sits lower I think it'd look better.

Definately longer

like the design of it, and the way it mounts to the stock luggage rack, I've been looking for some mounts like that for my rack.

To make it look better you could fabricate a light rail for the front of it and put a few rectangular lights, that would give an illusion of it being longer and you could bias it toward the rear more, plus it's an excuse (if you need one) for more offroad lights

I think it is way to small. Both length and width.

I know! get a sport trac!! hehehe I think if you get the extension it will look nice

I think it would look a lot better if it were longer. I can't really see it well enough to see if it is too narrow. Also if it sat lower I think it may improve the looks. I think if you can find an extension and put some stuff in it, it will look much better.

IMO i think you should just take it off and leave it off:dunno:

I've got the same Yakima Load Warrior basket on my 4 door. Just slide it back farther until you can get the extension. I would also replace the stock roof rack bars with the Yakima versions. My stock rails have pulled out twice so far, I just can't afford those bars yet.

what do you mean "pulled out"?

and it'd look a lot better with the extension on it. it seems to be plenty wide.

Looks good like this!! with the tools and the tire, keep it!!!

The bar has the two lips on the bottom that actually slide in the rail that is screwed to the roof. Well, the two lips actually bent and pulled out of that rail. The entire roof rack was bouncing away from the roof... I'll get pictures later and show you....

im going to see if i can unscrew the front rail and move it back, if not ill see if i can snag another rear rail from a yard so i can mount the rack farther back.. may look better than sitting in the middle of the roof. i'll post pics when i get something goin.

thanks everyone for the input!

I think I still have my roof rack cross bars in my Mother's garage if you need them and can't find them. Granted I have no idea when I'll be back to look for them, they do exist if you need one and can't get one up there. Just let me know, I'll give it to ya, just need money for shipping.

im gonna try to 'borrow' one from a parts truck at a shop.

thanks tho, you never did answer me josh, are you playing world of warcraft, halo, or practicing your telemarketer look in your avatar?

i think he told me it was gears of war 2.

i think will look much better if you move it back.

I thought about getting 2 or 3 extra roof rack bars from a junkyarg to put under the rack, and attach it to all of them. Theroy is it will disperse weight, and hold the load better, especially when off camber. But it is a theroy at this point.

I say dump it all together you truck will handle better without it. (raises you COG)
