Yeah, and I think the blurring of the plate isn't really worth the time. Thats why there's only one like that. I mean, anyone can see my plates when I'm driving anyway.
I was talking about having them inside the brush guard frame, about even with those cute little lights.:p
So, if something hit them, you wouldn't have cleared it anyways.

Below the bumper is definately a bad idea.

4 looks better than three....But two on the roof, and two below would look the best..

Well, I just bought 2 5" black 55W fluted Pro Comp lights from 4 Wheel Parts. I'm going to try to put these above the bumper, but if that doesn't work, I'll mount them down low (they're cheap enough to risk the lower mount) Too my door for <$43 :D

Will have pics once I get them on...

Here's one for starters...

Good choice on lights, if those arent bight enough and you want them even brighter get the other lenses.

Let us know how those treat you. I've been wondering what the difference between $150 KCs and $30 Autobone lights is. Given the same size and wattage lights, it seems that the only real differences would be the durability of the housing and the quality of the optics. Neither of which sould really make much of a difference in performance.

Uhhh... that is how performance is defined. The optics is what gives the light its shape and pattern and all of that Jazz. I have the 100W KC Slim Lights (Driving lens) and I really like them. Good quality, very clear and bright, and a 23 year warranty. Autobone lights are realy cheap, crappy reflectors that will crack and peel in a short time. I'm going with Pro Comp b/c alot of people speak highly of them and I wanted a steel housing (don't like how Hella uses ABS). Anyways, here's what i'm planning on doing (except the lights won't have rock guards)

Here are a few pic of 4 lights on the brush guard!

They are Hella 500 on the out side Hella 1000 inside!

The 500's don't block enough of the headlight to really notice. I can just use my fogs if I feel the need for more light, or I can turn nite into day.

I wouldnt go with the autozone lights, if you are looking at those two because of price you should take a look at the Explorer Pro Comp 6" round. Thats what I have had for about 5 years on my brushguard and they have never broken a lens or anything, the bulb has never gone out and I use then all the time. The only thing that I need to fix on those lights is the top of them, they are a bit sun burnt. A little touch up paint and thats it. And they only run about $29 a light. They have great durability with the rubber gaskets around the lenses and mounts.

Here is a close up of the Guard. Some one asked for a photo awhile ago and I just found it.

I was also worried about the amount of air getting to the Radiator. but of course I've only got 2 in the way.

I also just noticed that your Manik guard kind of slantsin the middle mine doesn't.

Yeah, if I wanted to light up the nite, i would've gotten some KC sealed beam Daylighters 385,000 CP:eek:

But I realized I'd never use them, so I'd get some 55W driving/utility lights instead :D

how do u wire the 3 lights? just hotwire it to the existing wire for 2 lights?

Below the bumper doesnt mean below the air damn hanging down like a pair of dog n@@s.

You either make sure the wiring and relay can handle it, or you wire the third up to a new relay.

Unless you're running crazy wattage lights, 1 relay should be able to handle a third light. just run another wire from the power source (battery or relay depending on how you have your stuff wired) or run a heavier gauge wire to the existing lights and tap off of that.

Kemp... picturing dog nuts now... thanks ;)

I would never buy anything that was autobone branded, I was just using them as an extreme example.

I'm working on a plan to make a roof rack bar into a removable light bar. With my factory fogs and Hella 550 driving lights, I figure I have enough light to illuminate immediately in front of the vehicle and that a few lights up top would light up anything that is blocked by low shrubbery.

Hmmm.. that gives me an idea... Hella 550's hanging between the roof rack and the roof... Hmmm.... Or KC's super slim driving lights up there... Hmmm... Time to do more research! :D

(I really think its impossible to have too much light :chug: )

I was thinking about taking a roofrack cross bar and cutting it so I just have the parts that attach to the track.

Next, get a piece of 1.5" angle iron and attach it to the sides so that the flat parts are in front and up.

Then, drill holes in the front and attach the lights to the front of the angle iron.

Last, get a standard flat4 trailer light hook-up and have the 3female/1male end zip-tied to the tracks. That will provide a quick-disconnect for 3 sets of lights and one ground.

Anyone done anything like this? Anyone willing to try? I want to do it but use my roof rack occasionally so I don't want to destroy my rack. So, this project is on hold until I get another crossbar (anyone have one they want to sell me?).
